Teamprise Announces New Features in Upcoming 3.0 Release
Teamprise 3.0 to extend Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Sever to Java and cross-platform development teams
LOS ANGELES, February 27 — Microsoft Launch Wave 2008 — Teamprise today announced the upcoming availability of Teamprise 3.0, its latest release of client applications providing Java and cross-platform development teams with full access to the application lifecycle management features of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server. Teamprise is giving product demonstrations while exhibiting at the Microsoft Corp. “Heroes Happen Here” launch event at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
“Our current release [Teamprise 2.2] is fully compatible with Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server, but Teamprise 3.0 builds upon many of the latest features added to the server by Microsoft, and also provides additional integration into several key areas, such as Team Build and Check-in Policies”, said Tonya Nunn, Customer Service Manager at Teamprise. “Teamprise 3.0 will allow our customers upgrading from Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to benefit from the latest enhancements in Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server.”
The Teamprise Client Suite currently consists of three Java-based applications – a plug-in for the Eclipse integrated development environment (IDE), a cross-platform explorer-style GUI application, and a command-line client. All three applications communicate directly with Visual Studio Team Foundation Server and are completely cross-platform, running on operating systems such as Linux, Solaris, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows. New features added to the Teamprise 3.0 release include full integration with Team Build, an implementation of Check-in Policies, and support for features such as Destroy, Undelete, and Recursive Compare. Additional product information can be found on the company’s website (www.teamprise.com). The final release of Teamprise 3.0 is expected in March.
“Microsoft is excited to see Teamprise continue delivering strong cross-platform solutions for customers using Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server as the hub of their application lifecycle management environment,” said Kevin Kelly, senior product manager for Visual Studio Team Foundation Server in the Developer Division at Microsoft Corp. “Enterprise organizations with both .NET Framework-based and Java-based development teams can deploy Teamprise 3.0 cross-platform clients and standardize on Visual Studio 2008 Team System as their application lifecycle management solution.”
