LOS ANGELES, October 27 — Microsoft PDC 2008 — Teamprise today announced the release of Teamprise Remote Accelerator, the latest addition to their line of products built for Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server. Teamprise Remote Accelerator is a tool designed specifically to improve download speeds for remote developers working over low-bandwidth connections by fetching files dynamically as they are changed in the source repository and caching them on the remote developer's own computer for fast access.

The Teamprise Remote Accelerator provides a considerable improvement in speed compared to connecting directly to Team Foundation Server without a version control proxy. Benchmarks reported over 400% speed improvement over a direct connection to the server. Such dramatic speed improvements are available thanks to the innovative "cache seeding" available in Teamprise Remote Accelerator, where Team Foundation Server resources are downloaded automatically to the client and cached immediately. New resources are then available immediately to the client.

Announcing the release, Edward Thomson, project lead for Teamprise Remote Accelerator, said "We first developed the Remote Accelerator for internal use, as Teamprise has many employees who work outside of our headquarters. After seeing the productivity gains, we realized that this would be very useful for other developers who use Team System remotely."

Thomson continued, "Traditional version control proxies are aimed at workgroups, where the first person to download a file takes a performance hit while the proxy fetches it from the server. Teamprise Remote Accelerator, however, is designed with the single user in mind: by downloading data from the server as it changes, the proxy always contains up-to-date information even before the client requests it."

"I am excited about this product, which adds definite value to the TFS environment for remote teams, or users like myself who access the TFS server via a broadband network while on the move.'" commented Willy-Peter Schaub, a Team System MVP. "It performs this personalized caching tremendously."

Teamprise Remote Accelerator is compatible with Visual Studio Team Editions and Teamprise clients. It retails for $99 per user and can be purchased directly from the company's online store. More information can be found on the Teamprise website, www.teamprise.com/products/accelerator/.

Also at the conference on Monday, Teamprise was giving demonstrations of the latest features being added to their Teamprise Client Suite, a suite of tools providing cross-platform and Java development teams with full access to Team Foundation Server from within their native environments, such as the Eclipse IDE. The latest features include integration with the Mylyn task based framework of Eclipse, publishing JUnit test results into Team Foundation for complete Java build metrics, and interoperability with Visual Studio 2010 Team Foundation Server.

ECLIPSECON, SANTA CLARA, CA — March 18, 2008 — Teamprise today announced the availability of Teamprise 3.0, its latest release of client applications providing Java and cross-platform development teams with full access to the application lifecycle management features of Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server. Product demonstrations are being given by Teamprise and Microsoft while co-exhibiting at EclipseCon 2008. In addition to the release, Teamprise also announced a new pricing structure which provides customers with greater flexibility in purchasing the product.

“The Eclipse Foundation is pleased to see Teamprise continuing to bring the value of high-end application lifecycle management to the Eclipse community and bridging the gap to other platforms and solutions”, said Mike Milinkovich, Director of the Eclipse Foundation. “The Teamprise 3.0 Plug-in for Eclipse and Microsoft’s Visual Studio Team Foundation Server combine to offer a seamless, robust solution for Eclipse development teams.”

The Teamprise Client Suite consists of three Java-based applications – a plug-in for the Eclipse IDE, a cross-platform Explorer-style GUI application, and a command-line client. All three applications communicate directly with the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server and are completely cross-platform, running on operating systems such as Linux, Solaris, Mac OS X, and Windows. New features added to the Teamprise 3.0 release include full integration with Team Build and support for Check-in Policies. Additional product information can be found on the company’s website, www.teamprise.com.

In addition to the release of Teamprise 3.0, the company also announced new pricing for the product. Previously, the Teamprise clients were only available as part of the bundled Client Suite, but beginning with 3.0, customers can now purchase individual clients based on their needs. For example, developers requiring only the Teamprise Plug-in for Eclipse can now purchase that client for only $199. In addition, the cost of the Client Suite has also reduced for smaller teams. Full details on the new pricing structure can be found on the company’s online store.

“We’ve seen a growing demand from our customers for the ability to purchase individual client types, such as the Teamprise Plug-in or command-line client”, said John O’Neill, VP of Sales at Teamprise. “Our new pricing structure provides the greatest level of flexibility in purchasing and makes our product offering more affordable than ever for anyone wanting to get started using Teamprise and Team Foundation Server.”

ORLANDO, June 4 — Microsoft TechEd 2007 — Teamprise today announced plans to support the upcoming Visual Studio 2008 release of Team Foundation Server. The Teamprise Client Suite, which provides Java developers and cross-platform development teams with full access to the software development lifecycle features of Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, will be upgraded to support the performance enhancements and new features coming in Visual Studio 2008, currently in Beta.

“Microsoft is adding several significant enhancements to Visual Studio Team Foundation Server in the areas of work item tracking and build management, among others,” said Ben Pryor, senior software engineer on the Teamprise Client Suite. “Our goal is to support those features and make them available to Java developers using our plug-in for Eclipse as well as Unix developers on platforms such as Linux and Solaris.”

Teamprise is planning to release a compatible version of the Teamprise Client Suite in the same timeframe as the final release of Visual Studio 2008. The company has recently joined the Visual Studio 2008 Technology Adoption Program (TAP), which allows it to begin using the current Visual Studio 2008 Beta 1 release of Team Foundation Server in a production environment, supported by the Microsoft product team.

“By joining the Visual Studio 2008 TAP program, we’re confident our product will be ready for release to our customers when the next version of Team Foundation Server ships, while also giving us the opportunity to provide technical feedback on the server to Microsoft to increase the quality of both products,” said John O’Neill, vice president of sales for Teamprise. “It’s important to us that every member of a development organization, both Microsoft .NET and Java developers alike, have full access to the latest features and enhancements.”

“Through support for Visual Studio 2008, Teamprise Client Suite provides more developers access to Visual Studio Team System, Microsoft’s award-winning Application Lifecycle Management suite,” said Ian Knox, Lead product manager in the Developer Division at Microsoft Corp. “Integration between Teamprise Client Suite and Visual Studio Team Foundation Server delivers a scalable, reliable change management solution to developers working on a variety of platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS.”

The Teamprise Client Suite currently consists of three Java-based applications – a plug-in for the Eclipse IDE, a cross-platform Explorer-style GUI application, and a command-line client. All three applications communicate directly with the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, providing full access to the application lifecycle management features of the server from outside of the Visual Studio IDE. In addition, the company also recently announced plans to release a full-featured Java SDK for Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, based on the core libraries of the client suite.

SAN FRANCISCO, May 8 —- 2007 JavaOne Conference —- Teamprise today announced plans for the creation of a Java Software Development Kit (SDK) for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server. The Teamprise Java SDK for Team Foundation Server will enable software developers to create custom applications in the Java programming language that have access to the full set of features in Team Foundation Server, including source code control and work item tracking.

The new offering from Teamprise will be built using much of the underlying technology in the Teamprise Client Suite, a suite of cross-platform applications providing Java developers access to Team Foundation Server from within the Eclipse IDE, and on Unix-based operating systems. “The Teamprise Client Suite was constructed with a large set of core libraries and it is our plan to expose much of that functionality to Java developers in the form of an API they can use to build their own Team Foundation Server -enabled applications,” said Shaw Terwilliger, Software Developer and Project Lead for the Java SDK product. “Microsoft already provides an API to Team Foundation Server for .NET Framework developers, so we see this product as a way to compliment that offering and extend it to Java developers.”

Licensing terms for the SDK are still under consideration. “We’ve seen demand from customers who need to include Team Foundation Server access in their Java applications for resell to their own customer base, but there is also a need within the larger enterprise organizations for a Java SDK for creating Team Foundation Server -enabled programs and utilities for internal use only,” said John O’Neill, Vice President of Sales for Teamprise. “We want a licensing model that will appeal to both sets of customers.”

Initial availability of the Teamprise Java SDK for Team Foundation Server is scheduled for the end of the year. The first version of the SDK will focus on the source control and work item tracking features of Team Foundation Server, with additional functionality to be added in future releases. More information will be available on the company’s website in the coming months.

“We are pleased to see Teamprise continue to expand the Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server ecosystem by providing Java developers with an API for creating new applications that access Team Foundation Server,” said Ian Knox, group product manager of the Visual Studio Team at Microsoft Corp. “We look forward to seeing additional Team Foundation Server-enabled products entering the market as a result of this offering.”

CHAMPAIGN, IL – March 20, 2007 – Teamprise, provider of the popular suite of applications for accessing Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server from within Eclipse and on UNIX-based platforms, today announced that is now offering complimentary licenses for software developers wanting to use its Teamprise Client Suite to access CodePlex, the Open Source community service from Microsoft.

Announcing the offer, Martin Woodward, senior software developer at Teamprise and Microsoft MVP, said “After talking with the CodePlex team we discovered that many open source projects would like to use CodePlex as their home but were unable to because some of the developers were working on Linux or the Mac. We wanted to remove that restriction. Since CodePlex is based on the popular Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, we decided to provide developers of this open source community access to the same tools we offer to the enterprise.”

CodePlex users wishing to request a complimentary license for Teamprise should visit the company’s website (www.teamprise.com/codeplex/) for more details. CodePlex users will have access to the full set of features provided by the 2.1 release of Teamprise. For more information on the capabilities of the Teamprise Client Suite, visit www.teamprise.com/product/index.html.

Responding to the announcement, Ian Knox, the group product manager for Visual Studio Team System at Microsoft said “Teamprise is a key strategic partner for Visual Studio Team System who work closely with our engineers to ensure that Team Foundation Server can be accessed from other development platforms. It is great to see Teamprise extend this added functionality to the community of developers using CodePlex for their open source projects."

“At CodePlex we want to support any open-source project regardless of their technology platforms. Developers can now use Teamprise to access CodePlex directly from the Eclipse IDE or from their Linux and Apple Macintosh computers,” said James Newkirk, product unit manager for CodePlex. “I am excited to see where the community takes this and what new projects will develop as a result.”
